    Fourth weekend of October!

I've been working on a quilt from a pattern called Third Weekend of October off and on for the last 6 months. I had thought I might be able to get this top done last weekend but I chose the fabric for the border too late, it didn't arrive in time. So this is my Fourth Weekend of October quilt!

This was the first time I did paper piecing or a quilt with lots of HST. I would not necessarily recommend this quilt to a beginner, not that it was too hard but that my stash is not very large. I had to repeat fabrics more often than I would like throughout the quilt. This would be a good pattern to use up scraps but those of us only quilting a few years don't have enough for a true scrappy quilt.

The leaves here in Boston look nice still, much better than last year where we got a snowstorm the last weekend of October!

Your stash yielded a beautiful quilt. It'd also be perfect as a lovely seasonal wallhanging, besides being a colorful addition to any bedroom or other room decor. Very nice work.

I got that pattern here but there are several quilt shops on the web that carry it.

Wow that is beautiful. I am a beginner, but I would love to give it a try. My children and grandchildren gets real fascinated when they see a quilt I have finished.

LOVE that quilt!!! It reminds me of a painting on my wall called "Forest Floor" that I got from a little gallery in Evergreen CO. I think this quilt would be awesome as my fire place cover and I'm going to check out the pattern site.

    Very nice!! Thanks for sharing!

Great! They make a wall hanging size as well called "New Leaves".

May your stitches always be straight, your seams always lie flat, and your grain never be biased against you.

Your fall leaf quilt is very pretty! And you are lucky there is no color left on any of our leaves, most are off the trees.
