I think it is so sad when I find things like this. I rescue quilts all the time and embroider items. Great find.

Dang YOU are so lucky!!!
I love the old linens!!

Soak stained linens in Oxyclean.
Be sure it is well dissolved first.

I had an old piece that I took to a professional fabric restorer-- not sure of his correct title. He works with fabric thousands of years old for Chicago museums and he said the Oxyclean is similar type process to what he uses.
That's a great endorsement for me!!

Hope it comes clean for you! I would have snatched it too! I bought a quilt recently at a flea market for $20. It had stains and what I thought were mildew stains as well. I never thought it would come clean and I planned to cut it up if it didn't. To my surprise, it came out gorgeous! What a steal!
