Thank You all so much. Very nice comments, every one! I finished them up after posting this morning, and I still hate them. I suppose it is when something just doesn't cooperate, it becomes a thorn to look at.

Yes Ruth Camp, the center block was appliqued on over the sewn blocks and then I cut away the back to get rid of the bulk. I quilted them and then took 2 months trying to find that dark green, almost grey to bind it with. If you are serious about wanting them they are yours. pm me...

I have been going though all my ufo's and finishing them since the beginning of the year. So, another one down.

I made a double ended pot holder today with some tiny old paper pieced sail boat blocks. They are coming out cute. So all is not lost. :D I really needed to have something go right for me today. I think it is I miss my dad .. He passed away a year ago.

In spite of the fact that you don't like them, you have done a wonderful job on them. Thanks for sharing.

The placemats are absolutely gorgeous! You really put a lot of work into them.

Yesterday after reading your post, I came to realize that you were right. I was just sick of worring about them. They are just placemats for heaven's sake!
So I took out those little sailboats and just had fun putting whatever I wanted on them with reckless abandon. I had so much fun. Thanks for getting me out of the funk.

Really thanks to everyone .... I needed a little boost and you girls gave it to me. So thanks a million.

I think they're beautiful. You will too once you've had time to step back from them for a few days!

I think they are great. We have that one project we hate because it gave us so much trouble. Mine went to my DD and she LOVES it. I call it the quilt from H***

I think they are lovely and would look really nice on my table here in the desert. I have quail all over my property.

I like how they turned out, but I can certainly understand your frustration about them, and then not liking them. I am sure they will be appreciated soemwhere!

They look amazing. Maybe you could put them in a drawer for a couple of weeks until you forget (well, simmer down) the trouble you've had with them and see them in a different light. They are wonderful.
