    Garden Party

    Hello All,

this was a scrap quilt that I made up to practice some quilting designs that came with the pattern. I also made one in black with saturated color scraps, havent started that one yet...but soon. While I was talking on phone to my mom about this quilt she mentioned that my sister needs an gift for a friends daughter who is making her confirmation and this quilt would be perfect. LOL, seriously it is hard to tell mom "no" about anything. So I said fine, since this quilt didnt have a home and was just for me to play with. Then mom lets slip that it needs to be shipped and at sisters house no later than april 9th I swear she thinks I am magical! Well I did it, suppose that is part of the problem here, I keep meeting her high expectations. LOL. Oh well! Ok without further ado, here is "Garden Party"

    Quilt Name: Garden Party
Pattern: In the Meadow by Judy Madsen (Greenfairy) from her book "Quilting Wide Open Spaces"
( Green Fairy Quilts Blog )

Your quilt is beautiful, and your quilting is fabulous. I never could tell my Moma no either, but it worked both ways.

This is so gorgeous. The quilting is perfect. Trying to decide if all blocks are the same size or if it is an optical illusion in color that makes them look different sizes?

Sounds like Mom keeps you busy! Your quilt is simple and beautiful. The quilting is fabulous! It doesn't look like you need any practice quilting.

You did a great job! I have the book but all I have accomplished so far is drooling over the pages. I actually bought this book because I love her quilting and thought looking at the pictures would be enough. Someone said it had patterns in it and I thought well I probably woun't like them - BUT I was pleasantly surprised I like very quilt in the book so that was just icing on the cake. Hopefully I will get to trying them before too long.

FYI - If anyone was thinking about this book - it is well worth the price!
