Beautiful. You did a fantastic job with all the quilting. Your cousin will be so surprised.

I admired this quilt when you posted it on VQW. It is fabulous. I really love how you quilted it. Outlining all the Geisha and flowers in the fabric print is very labor intensive, I know I did the same thing on one I am working on. There is very little to no fudge factor, you have to hit those lines pretty much dead on. The results are so worth it. I did mine with monofiliment, more forgiving if you miss a line.

Your cousin should be very happy with this. Hope she appreciates all your hard work. Sounds like a nice collaboration between you and your mom.

Thanks for the lovely comments everyone.

Feline: The geisha fabric had gold lines around the geishas, flowers and leaves so I used a matching gold thread on the top. If I bobbled and missed the line I was trying for, I would thread paint in a few times to fill in. Definitely a cheat, but I figure the only way to learn is to do it and you have to look pretty closely to see it. The only thing I did that I think I regret was to continue the lines in the black joins between some of the pieces as though the join wasn't there. I don't think I'd do that again. I was going to pick it out but my mom insists that she likes it like that. I think maybe she is being kind....
