This one is a design I saw in Fons and Porters called Kimono Rose. I've had the fabric for several years and could not find a design I really liked for it. This one is for DH's son and wife. They like Asian stuff. I also did the quilting on this one. Custom quilting is just too expensive for me. And this way I get what I want. Another one done on my home sewing machine. And another one where I did not have enough of the backing fabric (sorry no pic of back) Sorry I did not rotate pics before attaching them.

the quilt is quite impressive, with all the color and angles and then the applique! Truly a labor of love.

This one literally took all year. I used a light fusible for the appliques and stitched them down with a small zig zag or blanket stitch. I think preparing the appliques was the most time-consuming part.

Good luck with your quilt. And I would like to see it when you finish.

Oh, by the way, there is a website where you can see some of the quilting done on the original quilt.
    http://www.mustardseedquilting.com/publishedquilts.html
Though you might enjoy looking at it since you plan to do this design.
