That's so pretty. I'm sure she'll love it.

While I'm not into the whole gender neutral thing, I'm also go tired or pigeon holing "pink is for girls and blue is for boys" so I like alternative colors besides those. I love your colors and fabrics.

Your quilt is beautiful! The yellow really makes it pop!

So far as it being gender neutral - I have never liked pink and purple and always loved blues. While I enjoy seeing baby quilts in traditional colors, I have always made mine in all sorts of colors. I think when we start using the term "traditional" that it leads to thinking of "traditional" roles for men and women instead of encouraging children to explore all interests that they have and making careers equal opportunity. Well, enough of my soap box for now.

Love your quilt!! I lean towards the gender neutral quilts - the young mothers nowadays seem to be less rigid about the pinks and blues and I've had several requests for black & white baby quilts since apparently it helps babies focus their eyes in the first few days. Your giraffe fabric is very cute and you did a great job of the quilting too.

I totally agree with you. I get pretty sick of the pink and blue constantly.
Your quilt turned out beautifully!
