I whined on the board a few days ago about doing the fmq on this quilt. I have a sewing machine with only a 5 1/2" throat space and the quilt is almost a queen size...wore me out! Several board members gave me the encouragement that I needed to keep going. The picture is a bit dark. DH (who is 6'4") is holding it up for me and I tried to get a close up of the quilting. I do like it better than I thought I would. I guess I will chalk it up to being lots of practice for fmq. I gave it to my parents and they loved it. Just like you all told me that they would...they didn't even notice the fmq mistakes. Thanks for the encouragement.

If you gave it to me, I'd say, "Thank you very much. It's gorgeous."

You did great, once you are hooked there's no turning back. You'll be amazed that it gets easier every time. I'm trying to challenge myself to not do the same pattern twice. Practice new designs on paper it helps. Keep up the good work. Remember you did it from beginning to the end!!

Wow! You give me inspiration to try this again with my next quilt and save some money. Did you do it free hand or did you trace a pattern to follow on it?

Debbie, this quilt is beautiful & your FMQ looks great. Give yourself a big pat on the back, as I know you're tired. This is called a "labor of love" & it's Valentine's Day. Your parents will cherish the quilt because you made it.

Your parents are going to love this quilt. I think your FM looks great. Lift your right arm, bend it at the elbow and pat yourself on your back. Great work.

Oh my gosh. You did a beautiful job. I remember you asking for advice. And seems like you did it in short order too.
