Yours is beautiful! I've seen the giraffe pattern and the elephant pattern several times and must admit that I love both of them. But this is something I would NEVER attempt. Just not that brave.

Your quilt is gorgeous! Although the paper piecing was frustrating for you, the resulting quilt would not have been the same with any other method. Your effort shows.

Beautiful quilt. And I can truly commiserate with you over ripping out almost everything. I have the same experience when trying to PP...Seems I can flip it to ensure it will cover the area needed, but then after sewing it doesn't. Hard to wrap MY brain around PP...seems backwards to me
