    Default Goodwill Rescue

I was in our local Goodwill Bin store last month when I saw this poor quilt. I purchased it for less than $2 and brought it home. Into the washer and dryer it went and then I took the whole thing apart. None of the blocks were the same size, there were gathers, puckers and pleats all over the place. I kept 12 of the embroidered blocks and tossed the rest.

None of the blocks were the same size. I used iron-on interfacing on the back of each block, then trimmed them to the largest size possible. I knew if I just sashed them, the size differences would stand out. I decided to use a technique I hadn't used in a long time.

I meandered on the quilt (over the embroidery too). I love how it turned out.

You did a wonderful job! The person that made the original quilt would be so happy to know her embroidery lives on.

Very pretty remake: you've masterfully highlighted those embroidery blocks. The new quilt is adorable.

Very good re-purposing of the embroidered blocks. Your setting of the blocks shows off their beauty to much greater advantage. Congratulations on finding this jewel and resetting it properly.
