Mahalo! (Thank you!) It's not the final trim yet, the one that happens after all the quilting's done and before the binding's done, to be sure the big 'ol thing ends up square. Right now...approximately 84" square. It's kind of a lifetime project!!!

    Leslee, WOW indeed!
I love it. Yes, a lifetime's work. It is beautiful. I love your design. You did good! :D You be sure to up your homeowner's insurance now!

I hope I can get with it with my own very little Hawaiian quilt. 16 inches just doesn't compare.

Thanks for your helpful suggestions this afternoon. I know Marcella will be wanting to know what information I got today. She's supposed to start one of these also but she's behind!

P.S. Red Quilt top posted here is mine.

That is beautiful! I was in Hawaii a few months ago and stopped in a quilt shop, picked up books and fabric. I am inspired to get started now that I have seen your project.

Just a tidbit of info on the insurance .... I thought some might be interested to know.... I checked with our agent as I have a few antique quilts and I was told each and every quilt I have would have to be appraised and added to our policy as a rider.... I also checked into the fees for this and IF I remember right it was $250/quote! So my quilts are not insured! :(
