A Grand Time at The Fair!!!
When I took Swiss Granny_59's entry to the Fair ...

...Some of my quilts tagged along.
While no where near the quality of her outstanding work, I was thrilled with so many red ribbons. Many of you will remember these from previous threads.
Left -- My Pony Club quilt ... I had all but given up hope of it making it to the Fair, as my LAQ still had it the first of the week. Then a call came and I didn't think I could ever get the flange and binding done on time. Thankfully, I had them already made and just had to get into action!!! Burning the Midnight oil was more than worthwhile, when I saw the Red Ribbon (first), and the Pink Ribbon (Grand Champion Machine Quilted Quilt). This means that the quilt will go onto District competition in the Fall where all the Grands of 25 fairs compete.
Right -- Fr♥sty ... First in Wall Hangings.

A Foursome of Reds ... Convenient for pictures that they were hung together!

Fr♥sty's Fence ... a miniature

Monty The Mountie, standing on guard -- First in Seasonal Door Decorations (not Christmas)

A popular class at the Fair is the "Block Challenge".
Kits were distributed with 2 fabrics that must be used.
We could add more fabrics, but must use some of each of the 2 fabrics.
The block was to depict the theme of next year's Fair .... "Carousels and Cowbells".
The entries were kept, and a quilt will be made for a raffle at next year's Fair.
Here's the kit fabrics ...

My block placed 1st! I had been so excited about the challenge, until I saw the fabric! That large print just through me for ideas and I put it off for quite awhile before I made the block. In the end, I just used it in the centre of my octagon representing the carousel. There was such a variety. A lot of appliques using the large print. Some did patterns with cow bells. A couple had made the cutest carousel horses, though without any connection to the cowbell part of the theme. This picture is from my design wall as I forgot to get a photo of it at the Fair along with all the others, for future ideas.
