My granddaughter, Aubrey, age 12, decided after watching Grandma sew, that she wanted to make something. After looking at numerous books, she decided on making a pajama top. Next order of business was to pick out fabric. She loved the doggie fabric and I suggested we use the paw print fabric to "accent" it.

I think that she did really good for the first time using a pattern, cutting the fabric and sewing!! (Grandma did help -- but really not that much!)

She hates to have her picture taken so I didn't get any of the actual "doing" but here is the finished effort:

Sewjoyce, thanks for sharing, what a fun hobby to share with your gd. Sorry she doesn't like her picture taken because she's beautiful and we all love to see beauty in our lives. That's such cute fabric!

I don't know why she doesn't like her picture taken. She's such a beautiful girl. And she sews! Let us know if she needs fabric! Great influence, grandma!

Your GD did a wonderful job....love the patterned fabric. She is waaaaaaaaay too beautiful not to get use to having her picture taken. :) I see many years of sewing with GD in your future....lucky! I'm waiting till next year to work a project with my GD.

You might as well start shopping around for a machine for her! Once the bug has bitten........she'll be making clothes for school next. I know I did when I was in high school........and home economics.......5 years worth just to get to sew........lol! She's a beautiful young lady and did a wonderful job on her first sewing project! Tell her Congratulations for me!
