it would be interesting to see how the steps turn out as mothers themselves. Good for you grandma, I am sure your GD loves and appreciates everything you do for her.

That is so sad that a person could toss something that means a lot to a child, into a fire!!! Sad but mean & cruel. I am so happy though that Maggie has you as her Grandma. She is a lucky child. She no doubt loved her first quilt but the 2nd one will be just as much if not more meaningful. Yep, another that says you should be awarded Grandma of the year.

Is this one in picture the first one or the remake? Bless you for replacing it for her.. she will treasure it and also feel your kindness and have a domino effect :). I bought a really pretty quilt, wall hanging. at a garage sale for two dollars... a ton of work in it the girl selling said her grandmother made it .. I have a name on the label but have been unable so far to return it to its owner ;(>

this is the quilt the girl said she had no attachment to it and sold it to me.

This quilt is precious. Someone's GM did a lot of work and put a lot of love into it. Hope it finds it's rightful home but don't be surprised if you end up not finding Grandmom.
I made one of my sons a very nice queen size quilt of Tiger print fabric. It was my second large quilt. He and his GF had an argument and broke up. Before he could get his belongings from her house, she threw it in the garbage and the city hauled it away the next morning. Guess where I hope she goes straight to.....

What a pretty and unusual quilt. It hurts to think that it wasn't loved because of the work put into it and the love behind it. It makes me sad.

I know I always focus on the wrong aspects of stories but I can't stop thinking about the issues the step sister must have. I'm 29 right now so 21 wasn't all that long ago for me. At that age I would NEVER have dreamed of doing something so spiteful and evil to anyone, let alone a child. If she can be so careless with treasured belongings, what can she also be so careless with? People? :( I would be seriously concerned about letting her spend any unsupervised time with the younger kids.

Good job for coming to rescue Grandma and making a new one. I know you must be very sad over the loss of the first one but hopefully time will heal that wound for both you and your grand daughter.
