I read through the nice comments..thank you!

The pattern for the block is Jacobs Ladder. The quilt top has 16 blocks. I used 1 light, 1 medium and the 1 dark. The border is the large focal print. The pattern is by Heirloom Elegance Designs 3 yard patterns. The size of the throw is 50 x 50. 16 blocks total.

"maybe" my total time to complete it was a little more than 5 hours but I did not start it until Sunday afternoon and put the border on by Monday night. I did work that day. I chain piece like mad! The instructions show how to strip piece for the 4-patches that are in Jacobs ladder.

I am a fabric rep by day and I use my quilts for samples to show the shops. They have to be quick samples!

That is very nice. My soon-to-be 16 year old DGS just painted his bedroom grey and wants a grey quilt. I have been collecting greys to make a turning twenty. It will have just a touch of red in it. My biggest obstacle has been finding grey that is not floral.

Look for landscape fabrics. Bricks, wood, rock, pebbles, etc...do come in grays. You will have to look for them. Also many "blenders" have a gray to offer. Ask the stores. I keep getting requests for gray when out and about.

Yes, I have looked in the landscapes. I have several blenders. Unfortunately, my favorite place for landscape and & blenders closed so now I have to go a distance to find more. I need 5 more pieces.
