Hi,

The grommets I bought at the quilt shop, they're in every shop up this way. They're $10.69 here for eight of them, come in like five different colors and you get two purses from the package. They just snap together and can be reopened to adjust or whatever, no tools required, plastic like grommets.
I made the whole purse in a couple hours. I used fusible fleece for the bag and the handles. Instead of quilting it I used my twin needle and did a feather stitch down the edge of the seam line on the outside in blue and green thread.

The pattern is from Maple Island Quilts and it's called "Wallet & Grommet." It 's 10 x 11" when done. You can carry it as a shoulder bag or with two handles. I put pockets in mine.

If I had more fusible fleece on hand I'd have made another today! Was not hard to make, hardest part of it was cutting the circles for the grommets after you've made the bag! That wasn't hard, it was the "what if" I cut it wrong fear that was scarey.

Thanks everyone for the welcome back messages...I missed the board!

Bev

what a cute purse! Will have to look and see if someone around here is carrying those big size grommets. Just what I need another thing to add to my ever growing list :D
