Both are absolutely beautiful....I've been a hand-quilter since 1976 but have recently been trying to master free-motion quilting....of course my proficiency doesn't match my hand-quilting skills but there's no way I could ever finish everything without learning to machine quilt.....I love how you set up the painted blocks and plan to use that idea....but I really like the second pattern....Where did you find "Third Weekend in October"?

Mother hand quilted. She used a yard stick to make the straight lines drawn with a lead pencil. The lines
she drew were just as wide as the yard stick. What an uncomplicated way to make straight lines. (and
they always washed out of the finished quilt) These are g-r-e-a-t. Thanks for showing.

the artwork in these quilts, the puffy cozy want to snuggle up with a book of the fall leaves you can almost smell the crispness in the air. I couldn't 'choose a favorite' out of these. they both are simply exquisite!

Both are beautiful but I've had to come back a couple of times just to gaze at that leaf quilt again! Can you share the pattern for it?
