I am a handquilter, Pam it looks great. Have you tried Jo Anns for the thimble? I have one and got mine at Jo Anns or walmart.

Your quilting looks great! I love the hand quilt look and I find it relaxing to do also. However if I only hand quilted my quilts I would definitely die before they got done. I am not very fast at sewing or hand quilting. :(

Wow, that is beautiful. Keep us posted on how it's coming along. That's going to be a wonderful quilt.

It is relaxing. I especially like this continuous line border. Not a lot of starts and stops, mostly smooth curves and it seems to be going fast. I worked on it for about an hour this morning and I'm done with the 3rd repeat. I need to do a bit of adjusting here because I need to turn the stencil over to turn the corner on the border. Of course, it doesn't exactly match the length of the stencil repeat so I need to add about 1 1/2" overall by widening the space a bit between the next 8 leaves.

I could post pictures every day of progress but would you get bored with it?

It is looking great. I always mark the whole top before I make the sandwhich. Parts like the log cabin blocks I would just eyeball. I like your border pattern. It goes beautifully with the border fabric. I hope you find the thimble you like. I use a leather one. I must have more than a dozen of them scattered around my house. I buy more of them everytime I run across them.

I should have marked it all but, the only thing to mark really is the border so I didn't do it. I have a ruler handy to draw the straight lines on the log cabin.

It's a good thing that I am not a petty person by nature, or I would hate you. Well, not just you - but all the other fabulous quilters on this forum who do such beautiful and neat work. .....but, as I am not petty, I just keep coming back to be inspired and motivated. (I wonder if there is a Good Housekeeping forum????? lol)

OMG... if there was a Good Housekeeping forum I would be drummed out of it!!!

I haven't done one bit of laundry yet this weekend and I'm going to be hurting for work clothes if I don't. I haven't mowed the lawn, vaccumed, dusted. Well, basically I haven't done anything but do some quilting, cut out pieces for my daughter's quilt, reading a romance, took a nap...

    :D  :D
