That's beautiful and is so inspiring. My dd sent me a kit from Kauai and I rcv'd it today. I love handwork so this will be perfect. I would love to know any tips that you have on the applique work. Thanks for sharing your masterpiece with us.

Yours is gorgeous! Did you do each of your appliques' separately, sew them together, and then quilt it all in one piece? The thought of doing a bed-size scares the bejeebers out of me, but maybe I could do it in sections.....

That's what I mean about not wanting to undertake such a large project! One of my aunts (who is part Hawaiian) made a quilt for each of her six kids and each took two to three years (on and off, of course). But they were all beautiful. Like you, maybe in sections . . . ?
