The first thing I thought when I saw it was to use the back ground fabric you used behind the church. I think it would really make it pop.

My vote would go for two narrow borders. First a medium coral maybe 1.5" and then a 3" green like the upper left corner tree.

Your quilt is very unique in its colors. A Very nice sampler.

I would do a bright green with a smaller white before the red?

I like the cream color in the church too, your wallhanging is cute.

Several ways to go with this. I find that the tree with the red background is eye-catching, as the fabric isn't anywhere else in the quilt and it is not a busy pattern, Perhaps you could use that if you have enough. As there are many colors in this, I wouldn't stray from anything that isn't already in the wall hanging. You could even get away with a narrow border and then the binding. The light green fabric for the border, and maybe the red(?) in the church door for the binding. This is a wonderful representative of the season!

I can't believe anyone didn't suggest red. To me that is the color of Christmas. I would use the red that the church door is made of. BTW the quilt is very pretty.

Hopefully all of these great options encourage you to make several more of this pattern! I would go with a narrow border of the dark green of the trees, then a narrower stop border of red because it's christmas, then a wider border of the green again.

For myself, I would use the background fabric on the church. The quilt is beautiful.

I would probably go with the darker green used for the tree next to the church. It needs to be a color that isn't the same as any of the blocks that would be next to this border IMHO. Please let us know which one you use. BTW, the quilt is absolutely beautiful. I love samplers.
