Default Help me with Kitten's Eyes!

The first picture is what I finished last night. BORING! I added the face and tail stripes today and that helps a lot, but his eyes need work. The other Kitten I made was a mostly black tuxedo kitten and the biggest circle of his eyes were white and looked great against the black face. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t-t213742.html This guy has a white face and his eye is just an outline. How would you fix it?

I'd done it with slanty eyes before, but I really loved the round eyes from my black kitten. So the problem is correcting the round eyes on the white background.

In your black and white one, the bottom of the face is white and it goes up into the eyes. Maybe the white one should have black around the eyes to match the bottom of its face. Then you' have the slice of green between the blacks on the bottom and maybe out line the top of the pupil with a green thread to separate the blacks.

That being said, I really like the green slanted eyes on the second white cat picture you showed.

Lisa - Thanks. I'll try that and maybe make the green part bigger too. My family hates the slanty eyed kitten. I think he looks mischievous and I want to make one like him in Siamese coloring!

How about 3 eyelashes kind of like the smallest spike you added to the tail?

I like the slanty eyed one best too. He does have a look of mischief about him! The pic of Emma with the black one really helped me get perspective on it as a quilt....just darling! Can't wait to see what you do with him!

It is not the shape of the eyes that is off, it is the shape of the pupil. Cat pupils are not round, unless they are open all the way, they are usually slits.

Cats also have eye brows about 1/2 inch above their eyes. Just a few on each side.

Your cats are lovely.

Could use an eggshell white or scrub for white area to give it some definition.
