Help! Need suggestions for a "Modern" pattern

I think you could make a green block and a purple block and maybe lay them out is rounds. example a green block in the center surrounded with purple blocks and the more green around them.
Or you could mix them all up within the blocks and the setting.

If I did this one I was wondering if I couldn't do the center box like in purple. Then the boxes around it in green. Then the boxes around that it purple...you get the idea. Just trying to brainstorm all the possibilities! This is the part that takes so long! lol!
