Default Help with sewing machine cabinet

I need a new sewing machine cabinet for my Pfaff Creative Sensation. I have always had my machine just sitting on top of a cabinet but now I really want to drop it down so the bed of the machine is level with the top of the cabinet. I have a sewing studio so leave my machine open all the time. I just can't afford the Koala or custom cabinets ($5-7,000). Can you please post pics of creative ways you have set up your sewing machine in a cabinet. I appreciate all the help given every day and look forward to seeing what others have done.

I have a Creative 1.5 and I think the footprint may be different. I picked up an older Horn cabinet from the 90s for $25 and repainted it. My machine barely fits in the opening. I have to take the accessory storage tray off to drop it under the table. I have seen other cabinets pop up on Craigslist and LetGo from time to time. They are usually under $500 in my area.

Try looking at the thrift store for an old machine in a cabinet. Most will fit a new machine. Usually $20 or less for the machine and the cabinet.

You can also alter a regular dining table. There are some tutorials online like this one:

My son made me this table with parts from Home Depot. It was very inexpensive.

this is what I had done for the machine I used before I got my Juki. The cabinet was probably a 1970's model that came with a Singer inside. Dh modified it so my machine would sit down and then I used the wood cutout to slide in place. Otherwise getting at the bobbin would have been a real problem. I glued felt to the back side so it would not scratch up the surface.

Just take any flat surface and cut out a hole for your machine and have someone build a wood box under it to hold machine. Just felt a false surface the right height. I used an unfinished computer desk.

I have a gidget 1 so according to the size you might need a gidget 2. https://www.arrowcabinets.com/shop/a...dget-ii-table/ I wanted one that would fold up if needed.

I have seen some very good cabinets on craigslist - e.g. Horn or Koala - going for very good prices. There's a Koala for $350 on my local craigslist right now, and it has lots of extras.

My hubby also cut a place in my table to fit my machine and then built a little shelf underneath to support the machine.
