I'm very sorry about your DN, I hope that you can find some comfort in knowing she is no longer hurting, her final wishes were granted and that she is at peace, now.

Your quilt turned out beautifully!!! All your hard work, patience and persistance really paid off :D :D :D

How much hand basting is "enough" when machine quilting?

Just read this post and wanted to first of all send my condolences for your DN. What a sad thing to happen at such a young age. Your family is in my prayers.
Secondly, your quilt is spectacular!! I love the colors and the depth on your quilt...you should be so proud of yourself for sticking with it and showing it who the boss is :).

imho, with all those seams being critical to placement, i believe that klue is right. that's the only way to be sure everything stays where it belongs. then, quilting from the center out is absolutely essential

Believe me all the suggestions were so helpful and I can't thank you all enough. That's the good thing about this board if we don't know an answer to a problem we know where to go to find out.

Jan:
Jan, first I am so sorry to hear about your nephew's wife. My prayers are with you and the family. She is a far better place.
So glad that you were able to work getting the layers to lay flat so you could quilt this. It came out stunning!
