That's wonderful you have your mom quilting with you. My mom doesn't understand my quilting. She says "why would spend that much time and money when you can just go to the store and buy a blanket" I told her a couple of years ago that I wanted to make her a quilt and she said "no, but how about a wall hanging with ........folded fabrics" Anyway, just this weekend I gave my dad the "rocket Scientist" quilt I made for him. We'll see if it get used or just gets put away in the closet. She used to sew but now spends her free time painting.

I can't think of a better thing to do with my Mum than a full day of sewing and quilting!!!
like you, My mum and I love to quilt and we enjoy spending a day together to do just that. 5 years ago we started up a Thursday night sewing group and we now have 5 in our little sewing group. We stopped for the summer, but we will be starting up again next Thursday night. I can't WAIT!

It's so nice to hear how many of us have bonded with our mothers over a sewing machine. I see a baseball game on the TV in the background. My mom was from New Orleans, but LOVED the Cubs for some unknown reason! Now when I quilt & watch a ball game I can almost hear her cheer. Thanks for the smile today! :D
