Katie gets her new machine for her 13th birthday in Buffalo NY
#1

We had Katie's birthday party up here in Buffalo on Saturday night and gave her the sewing machine. She was so excited when she opened it. We also got her the Debbi Mumm roller bag and accessories to go with it. She can now roll right along with Mommy to a sewing class. :-)
Check it out!!!

Dear Scrappinmad:
Hope I can do for my grandchildren what you are doing to encourage Katie's quilting 'career'.
I found a workbook , MASTERING YOUR SEWING MACHINE for the Bernina Sewing machines, and it includes information and projects for the Bernette (and all Bernina sewing machines). It is a simple lesson format that teaches how to use stitches, needles, threads, seams, hems, buttonholes, patchwork quilting, free motion quilting, how to use the different feet, etc., etc. These lessons would guide Katie to using the features of her machine, which many of us may not have learned after many years of ownership.

This site also has workbooks for Bernina Serger, Bernina Embroidery software and Babylock Sewing machines and sergers.
I also think any beginner could use these lessons as a guide for any machine using the features on their particular machines if they need to learn the basics.
Best wishes to you and Katie!!
