I will probably do freemotion stippling. It's how I finish most of my quilts, and I'm always happy with it. I am going to use a verigated colour thread this time, as I think it will look nice on the black. I'll post a pic as soon as it's done....might take a little while!

Lovely. Color is our friend ...

I was making something along those lines using all blue batiks. I wanted to create the illusion of a swimming pool. Dive in!

But, I can't begin to figure out how you put those blocks like that ...

Cordelia, they are just log cabin blocks on point. The big ones are made up of a small black square, then a 2" log cabin around that, and another colour 2" log cabin piece around that one.

The small ones are made the same way, but the outside piece is the same black as the background, so it looks like they are "floating". Then they are placed alternately on point, so colour outside, black outside, like that, in rows. Does that make sense?
