I think when working with homespun you need either a serger and/or 5/8" seams instead of 1/4", but that's just my opinion. The weave of that stuff is not tight enough for 1/4" seams.

I've not worked with homespun and think now that I don't want to. Great job and end project looks great.

It's really nice--very masculine. I'm sure you son will cherish it. I've never worked with homespun in a quilt. But it's great for making chenille scarves. It would probably be good for rag quilts too.

I like it because it's looks old, but I agree it can be a pain.
