My Granddaughter asked me to make her a horse quilt for her 4th birthday and this is what I came up with, The center is pictures of her on the pony she is learning to ride on. The next round is applique with blanket stitch. Both ends are fabric I cut up to make squares? I made a pillow also. Of course she loves it, she took a picture of every horse with the camera we gave her for her birthday last year.

How neat is that?? Even a 4 yr. old can appreciate a, "just for me", quilt.

Thank you for all of your nice compliments. Amanda did help me with the tying of the quilt. She liked to cut the threads. She got to see me working on it but her Mom and Dad did not so she was very excited to show them. She was so patient, it did not get done until after her birthday but she knew I was working on it. She would just tell her mom that there were horses on it. She even picked out the fabric for the top and bottom rows, and the colors for the other horses. Just need to get a picture printed with her and her dad fishing to add to the white square near the top. She also picked out pictures for her on Jazzy and with Papa and her Mom with Jazzy. ALso piced out pictures of both of our race horses with "Bruce" out trainer driver she has a HUGE crush on him. I think she will have this with her for a long time.
