    Hello to you all!
Last year my oldest daughter asked me to make a quilt for her granddaughter by marriage. At that time I hadn't met Jillyn but my daughter couldn't say enough about her.Well I met Jillyn this past summer and she is one of the sweetest children I have ever met. It was so obvious how much Jillyn loved "her" Grandma Debbie. What a pair!! Well sadly, my daughter died last September at 48. I went to Ohio in June and took care of her till the end. She had pancreatic cancer.
The highlight of both our days was when Jillyn would visit. She is such a special little girl. She took her Grandma Debbie's death very hard. We became very close during that time.
When I got back home and found the quilt I had started, I knew I had to finish it in time for her birthday in May. Well the top is done!! This is one ufo I am proud to finish!
The lighting isn't the best in the pictures.

I am sorry for your loss. The quilt is beautiful. Just know that Jillyn will love it and think of her grandma when she uses it. No one is ever really gone when they are in your heart.

Ditter, that really shook me up, because I am your daughter's age. I cannot imagine how that must have been for you to go through.

The quilt for Jillyn is beautiful and I'm sure she will treasure it. I hope working on it is giving you some peace.

Thank you all so much for your thoughtful replies. My Debbie is sorely missed, but Jillyn is a new joy in my life.
Life seems to balance out that way sometimes. I should explain, Debbie was always there as Grandma Debbie since Jillyn was born. She will be 7 in May.
