Actually, not bias binding. I've done them both ways (bias and straight) and found no advantage to the bias. The pad is 10.5" in diameter, so one 2.5" wide WOF cut will bind one pad with a small leftover. I have also, in the past, pieced the binding strips, so I could use smaller scraps.
