I agree it is beautiful and love the colors. You might be able to quilt this center flat. Jan

This is the prettiest lone star quilt I've seen. I don't know the answer but to me it's looks great.

You are right, there was a topic about using this awhile back.
Sorry if this has been posted already...Pam Bono uses something like this and sells them on her site.

Those are really nice colors. I took a class for this from Jackie Robinson. I haven't finished mine. Only 1/4 of it. So I guess I can't help. I do know that it shouldn't be handle a lot because of all the bias's. If I remember correctly, I belive there was a certain way of pressing it. I'll have to look through my notes. It's been a few years. LOL

I have never made one and I can't answer that but seems like I saw a tute somewhere about that exact question. You might want to search lone star quilts. or go to Sharon Schambers site. That is really a pretty quilt you did great. I love the colors in it. Gerbie

The quilt doesn't show any mountain in the middle because I cheated! I cut out the middle where the bunching happened and appliqued the yellow/orange star on top.
BTW, Thank you to ALL of you who have given me some ideas to try out - and I WILL try them all. I've already promised myself that I will NOT cheat on my next Lone Star and I will strive for a perfect center! (Yeah, right - I can hardly wait!!!) As they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained and I really want to learn how to do this.
Thanks again, for all the wonderful ideas.

    Kip
