So nice of you to make quilts for the nursing home. I know they will be appreciated. Love your quilt!

Recently, I made a Valentine's Day challenge block of a 10" red heart sewn together from all my red scraps, and set on a white on white scrappy background. Love the look of scrappy from all one color. :)

The last time I had extra blocks, I had made a S&W. I put the extra blocks on the back in a floral bouquet. Some flowers were loosing their petals. But nothing in scraps drawer.

Wow...great ideas. I have so many "extra" blocks that I make to try a new technique and there's so much I can do with them to give them a new home. Thanks everyone.

Our LQS gathers orphan blocks and a group of quilters will put them together for charity quilts.

Mine become "back art". I use them on the back of the quilt, sometimes as the label or part of the label. Sometimes I have enough to do a whole row. Sometimes I intentionally use up the scraps making blocks for the back, especially if I'm using a novelty print that I probably won't use again.
