Nice job and i know they are appreciated!

i make "cage comforters"
http://www.pleasebekind.com/ccp.html

for the local animal shelter..i use the batting that is 1" think and on a roll. it runs around $25 without a coupon. it is 24" wide. usually someone donates it to me, and i do the sewing, i can't afford to buy it myself.

I made about 70 scrappy quilt tops, most measuring around 14 x 20, i supplied the backing..and one of the ladies here,
( sunkistmi - Wendy )came to my house to pick them all up.she sewed them all together..and she donated them to the rescue. she does fostering for kitties..and helps place them.

What a sweetie you are to do that for our animal shelter. My sister is an animal avacate and makes regular donations to the reno sparks shelter. It is a really nice one and well run.

Welcome to the board from another renoite!

Another suggestion....sew up a 100% cotton pillowcase in the size you need...keep it pinned/taped near your machine & all 100% cotton thread and cotton clippings go into that bag.no battings..it makes a wonderful pet pillow....our local cat "saviours" love them.
