I finally got the binding on this today. I wanted to have it done yesterday, but after binding the baby quilt, just didn't feel like doing another.

These are "test blocks" I accumulated over a period of time, using fabrics that people gave to me that weren't really "my" colors, or taste, but which went together reasonably well.

I sent it out to a local lady with a mid-arm to be quilted - I can't say I think the quilting is stellar, but it is what I expected and I'm just glad not to have to mess with quilting it when I have several other projects I need to be using my time on.

I honestly think this is the ugliest quilt I've made, although I was pretty happy with several of the individual blocks. I'm just hoping that the bright colors and the fact that most of the blocks are "pictures" (either novelty print or representative blocks) will endear it to a child.

I think any child would be tickled to get this. They have the gift of looking at the love in it because it was made for them.

Don't beat yourself up, be proud of this bright and cheerful quilt.
Give it with the love it was made with. And I'll bet many years from now this quilt will be ragged from being loved all that time.

Perfect for a young child. They pick the bright colors all the time.

It may have started with bits and pieces to make trial blocks, but you really brought it all together with the sashing, border and those great red cornerstones.

I love it and I'm sure the recipient will, too.

Thank you all for the kind words. My three year old did say he liked it, but he says that about basically any piece of fabric I pull out.
