Isn't is great some of the places we get our fabrics from. Such a perfect use for those curtains and I am sure they prefer to be used than sitting on a shelf.

"use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without!" that is fabulous use of materials at hand. or window. extra points for the sense of humor factor, and more points for a lovely quilt!

A kindred soul! The quilt is beautiful and the backing was meant to be. That is great! I love the colors and setting of the disappearing four patch quilt. Very Irish.

My sisters and I am the same way passing linens, bedding and curtains back and forth. I just finished three of the many to come cotton woven kitchen towels. I made them from a set of drapes I bought and have never used. Have you seen what they are asking for cotton towels lately? I hate the new poly blends. What are they thinking? And don't get me started on the new washing machines with no agitator inside.

Your curtains were in good condition, so I say "why not"? Great quilt.

Thanks for the video. Loved Carol Burnett, and you gave me a good laugh. It was a good feeling and it made my day.

Nice touch-reminds me of Scarlet in "Gone With the Wind".

Beautiful quilt. Love the backing and love the story behind it. My mother loved the drapes we had when she was pregnant with her last child that she took them down and made a maternity dress, too. Funny to us, but she got lots of compliments on it.
