The border was called "garden maze" and I used a paper piecing method that I found online. Later I found a different pattern for the same border at www.quilterscache.com and wished I had used that version. It just looked easier/better, so I would suggest that one. Marcia always has great patterns! I wish I had looked there first!

eta: Marcia's at quilterscache is called "crossovers"

Quote: I finished the binding this evening....took all day to hand sew it down. I didn't quilt this one as dense but it is soft and comfy the way it is. It will travel quite a few miles this week as I go home on a business trip and it is gifted to my nephew. He just found out that he is the 2nd stage of remission for CML (leukemia).....hopefully he will move to the 3rd and best stage soon!

I stitched around the outside of the stars and the maze pieces and then did more of a 4 leaf design on the squares and in the borders.
gREAT jOB!! i love this pattern and have made one... I love to see how different each one can look!! It is a very easy pattern jsut takes time and fun to rearrange!!
