I went to the thrift shop yesterday and bought a little over 5 yds. of this. I figure it might make a nice backing as it is 52 inches wide.
What do you all think? Is it ugly? Couldn't get a really good pic of it, I don't think my camera liked it.

Butterfly wings are a good idea.

I think taken in small pieces it will add some shine to your quilts.

Try appliques with it..or maybe use it as smaller pieces in your quilt with others you do like.. You have tons of options.. Go for it... Reach for the stars.. No fabric is ever wasted fabric in my book.... They all find a purpose sooner or later..

Looks like a great blender to me. Good background for brights; bet you think of dozens of uses. Great score!

I kinda like it too. With the right fabric, it would go good and for the price, you gotta use it. That's a good deal.

Maybe I'm weird, but the way it is folded, it looks like the hairy belly of Big foot or some such monster! LOL

I don't think it is ugly, does it have a batik look, its hard to tell . It would make a good backing.

Remember the ugly duckling? It turned into a beautiful swan. Just think of your fabric in that light! It will be used in many beautiful quilts, and no one will ever think of it as ever being ugly! 8-)

I think this fabric deserves a clearer picture. I can see all sorts of possibilities for this, in addition to great backing. Fantastic price.

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder. It's not bad - I have seen a lot uglier for sure!!!! The colors are nice. MY impulse buy was 2 bolts of new quality Cranston fabric for $8 per bolt. One is all cat pillow panels and the other is all country house pillow panels (this is probably a second and panels are crooked). Thought my SIL would like to use the cats as backing. NOT. Now I am stuck with 20 yards of fabric. Maybe I should put it on ebay. My camera is charging or I'd post a picture. Both ARE very cute but not very practical. Oh well, maybe paint cloths, pool covers??? lol.
