Glenda your not along. I feel the same way you do. But I have yet to learn how to hand quilt and have all these unfinished tops. That's alright. It will get done and I will enjoy the process as I go. Hope your hands are feeling better.

Oh My! What a beautiful work. I hope you make a lot more quilts. You really have a talent! I love the colors you chose, and the design too. What a lucky niece you have -- and what an encouragement this quilt will be for her.

I love your quilt! I bought fabrics yesterday in these same colors but haven't decided on a pattern yet. You chose beautifully and I'm sure your niece will be thrilled.

Your quilt is very pretty, and the workmanship looks great from here. My advice to you is, to keep making quilts. The colors are great. For a first, you are off to a great start.

Since you made this yourself why not do std yourself. Just do centers of each block. If you don't use a machine it is still easy enough to do by hand. Really pretty, great job.

This quilt is beautiful! I learned to quilt this past winter & also made a quilt for my niece's graduation gift. I agree, a simple stitch in the ditch would look really pretty on this quilt.

Great job...it would be great even if it wasn't your first. I'd say to quilt it yourself, just do it! meander free motion or stitch in the ditch, you can do it! Watch some you tube videos and go for it!

Congratulations and happy stitching, from another newbie.

I love it!!!! What a happy quilt! The yellows are really wonderful. Are you sure you want to give it away? Will your niece (and the friends who visit her room) be responsible with it and if they're not, will you be okay with that? You'll only ever have one first quilt.
