So, I dutifully followed the directions and made the individula blocks. I even found the setting kit on clearance. I started the assmbly process and found from this board that one is supposed to square up blocks to a uniform size prior to assembly.
Beautiful!!! I have the same quilt and just pulled it out to work on the quilting, hope my looks as good when it is done.
So some blocks do not fit correctly together. I made mistakes on the assembly of the blocks.
I worked this past year through the wonderful Doll Quilt Swap on learning how to bind the quilt.
Well, I finally finished the quilt - quilting and bound. It is done and it is mine!!!
It may come in last place if I ever submitted it to a quilt show, but as my grandmother used to say, even an ugly baby is loved by its mother. And I love my very first queen size quilt.

Congratulations! We quilters are much too hard on ourselves. A piano teacher once told me that no one (except Moms and piano teachers) will know when a wrong note is played...you've got to keep going with the song. I think that could include us as well - if we don't tell, no one will know. I'm glad you shared your first quilt with us! No turning back now!! Keep up the good work!!
