I can tell you put lots of time and energy into designing and building this wonderful space. Right down to the pretty yellow paint. It is cheerful and will absolutely have a positive effect on your creative juices. Enjoy!

Congratulations, ncredbird! You have a wonderful cozy sewing area, made all the better because you and hubby worked on it together.

I envy those of you who have a dedicated area for sewing. I have my sewing machine (I also have a 7700)and fabric in an extra guest bedroom, but do my cutting on the dining room table or kitchen island. It seems that I'm always running from one room to another to find sissors, ruler, etc. Maybe some day......

Oh I am just so jazzed for you, to finally have your own space to be as neat or messy as you like. You & hubby did a great job, so neat n tidy & love the well organized closet.
May you have many hours of hapiness.

I have had so many lovely comments about this room! Thank you everyone. I also have had several requests on how to make the sewing table. We started with one we purchased from Craigslist.
The directions below are an attempt to explain the process. I hope this helps some of you. Ann in TN

I love recycling things.I use doors too,all the time.they do make great tables. And I love that you put one on a set of office files.I'm going to have to steal that one.So short on space, that would help me.And I don't know what foam boards your talking about, but that was a great tip too.You have a nice room.It is nice to be able to see what you have too. Thanks for sharing.

At Dollar Tree they sell a 30X22" sheet of rigid styrofoam board for $1.00. It is in the paper and crafting section. I think kids use it for display boards when the do school projects and science fairs. I had purchased a package of those plastic fabric organizers and liked the concept but couldn't afford enough of them to use for all of the fabric I had. I thought about the possibility of using the styrofoam board. It is acid free. I cut the board into 11X6" pieces so there were 10 per sheet. I wrapped the fabric around those and secured with plastic paper clips. Very little money invested and I haven't had any of them break. They are inexpensive enough that I toss them out when they no longer suit my purpose but they will probably be here longer than I will. Ann in TN
