Congratulation it is beautiful and love the color. Your border is beautiful. I believe it is done with a special ruler (template). If so I have it and forgot about it. Will have to dig it out and use it. Great job.

That is so neat! I love the border treatment-how clever. Only 2 colors too.

Beautiful piece! Hav no idea how you did that border but it, alone, was worthy of that blue ribbon, much less the whole quilt. Congratulations.

What a beautiful quilt! The design element you have in the boards is so delicate-looking. And your mitered corners that line up with the mitered border? makes me weep with envy! Congratulations.

Well, no wonder you got a blue ribbon.....your quilt is beautiful! Love how you brought those intricate borders into the piece, they go really well with the delicate paper piecing pattern. Congratulations!!

Thank you everyone for your nice comments! Centering the border and mitering was the most challenging part but this was also my first attempt at paper piecing too! Lots of firsts!

You fuse 2 layers of fabric back to back, cut the diamonds with the ruler, fold back the points so the bottom fabric shows, and place the whole thing on a 3rd piece of fabric. So then I treated the 3 layers as one and attached it like any other mitered border.

It's so beautiful. Dainty and refreshing to look at this summer. I don't know what technique you used for the border but it is unusual and pretty. I can see why you won! Thanks for sharing.
