I'm glad it means something to you now and that you had not disposed of it. As mentioned already, some deliberately put an "error" in a quilt so as not to seem prideful or perfect...in other words to stay humble. It is very common in my PA Dutch heritage and among Amish friends.

That was my first idea too. Your GGM might have just gotten a telephone put in and wanted to brag about the event. If I, at 77, can remember when we first got electricity back on the farm, then why couldn't your GGM remember her first phone?
