    Bearisgray.......I have not done Y seams, but I believe I have found a way to do this in triangles.

    Once you see it with the lines around each piece, all the magic disappears! :-) Using eq has taught me to break each block down into segments or workable pieces. It's amazing how easy some can be to draw.

    As for the lone star... I started one the other night, pittsburghpam's "no diamond" version. It's looking stunning, if I do say so myself! lol

    Looks like a great block. Try using half square triangles for the pointy bits and squares and rectangles for the other bits. I am sure you will do a great job of it!
