If Swoon Blocks are in - I'm making one

Two weeks ago, I saw a post that Swoon Blocks are all the rage. I had to ask the question - what are they? I did some research, drew the pattern and picked the fabric. I had recently done a swap with another board member for her scraps - and just couldn't wait to use this awesome black and gold floral. It was my project for Virtual Quilt Day last Sunday. The hand quilting took a little more time. 24" square. I think it will make a great table center.

I have not heard of "swoon" blocks until someone posted about them. Where can I find more info on them. I'm thinking they would be good gifts and I think Christmas is not to far in the future.

I totally love this block!! So you made the pattern yourself? I didn't want to buy the pattern, but would like the 24" size. There is a tutorial for a 16" size online. Your block is gorgeous!!

What a beauty! I love your version of "Swoon"! Is there a reason they're called "Swoon" blocks? They sort of look like another block... I think the name of it is "Weathervane" (maybe?). Whatever they're called, I call this one gorgeous! Kudos!

I figured out how to make it too. Then I looked at the Carpenter's Star and they are very similar so it is easy to find a way to make this block without purchasing directions. I love your colors and it is perfect as a table topper. Thanks for sharing.

I don't want to brag but I can still fit into the earrings I wore in high school.

I have a swoon quilt in my future, bought all new fabrics but haven't yet taken the plunge. My colors will be pink brown and orange with lots of white. Maybe I'll start in January when I'll need a blast of warmth from pink brown and orange prints!

found the tutorial for the 16" Swoon block at http://doublenickelquilts.blogspot.c...ilt-block.html she sure makes it look easy to do. I have a large Dutch Rose quilt in progress, actually started 20+ years ago and her updated tutorial would have been a great help. Better dig it out to see if I can make it easier to finish it.
