Here is a picture of my Margo Bag. I made it with a leftover from a chair I recovered! I think the thicker fabric works better for purses.

That is beautiful. I interface my quilting fabrics because they don't have the strength of the upholstery fabrics. Upholstery fabrics are great for bags.

WOW, I just found the bag pattern I want to make. I was given some very similar fabric. I like this because it has a zipper.

How did it go? Was it hard to make. I've made one purse by Lazy Girl Designs, and it went well.

Were you able to find the pattern locally, or did you order it.

I am so excited to see this. You did a great job.

Very very nice! I agree the heavy upholstery type fabrics work really well in bags.

No it is a Lazy Girl Pattern, I bought it with a free shipping deal but still really hated paying for a pattern, I will say though it was easy, the instructions are GREAT!

Yep! Bravo for multi-talented quilters. See a scrap, make a quilt, or a purse, or a mug rug, just make something. These scraps are to die for in their new life. Wonderful job on the chair and the Margo bag. They are so rich looking.
