Anyone who makes such a beautiful quilt deserves a hug. Ignore what the grumpy man said.

I probably would have told him he was free to make his quilt any way he wanted.

You should have told him how men should use hoes and sickles to take care of the gardens and yards, that would've shut him up!

Beautiful quilt, what a crabby old man... don't pay attention to people like that. I would have stayed, and not let him intimidate me. Hand quilting is an art !

I love your quilt.....

Not sure how old the guy was, but, I try to think like this, the "older" generations that come from the depression era can not help the way they are with saving money and being spend thrifts because that what they grew up in, today, though things are difficult, we did not grow up the same way, it is ok to buy new, we just live in a different era. It still does not take away the hurt that was caused to you, I would be more hurt if someone I cared about made the comment....sorry your sad.

Here's a big hug for you. Your quilt is absolutely beautiful. I'm sorry this grumpy person hurt your feelings. Once you're a little removed from it, try to remember that we never know what is going on in someone else's life or what caused them to be so unhappy that they took it out on you. Your quilt is super!
