Your quilt is a real beauty and the handwork is wonderful. Don't know what his problem was, but you had no reason to feel small.

Your quilt is beautiful.
You know what I learned during the 70s? When someone is going off on you - the thing that will almost always stop them in their tracks is to smile and say "Thank you for your opinion". It's almost like a slap in the face with a wet squirrel tail.
And by the way - grumpy old people were grumpy young people who just had to be careful what they said B/C people won't take stuff off of young'uns like they do old people.
The thing is - I'm 75 and still have to be careful! Go figure.

The love, labor, and time your put in on that incredible quilt is beyond anything he could ever say. Your work is a legacy. He just misses his momma!!! (and the "good old days" -- you know, horse and buggy, outhouses, no electricity -- the GOOD OLD days!!)

Sorry, but it sounds like this old fart should have kept his mouth shut! Another know-it-all, who doesn't know what he is talking about. Too bad ones like him feel they have to try & spoil it for the rest of us, but don't let him! Your quilt is lovely, enjoy it!
