This is how I quilted the floral log cabin wall hangings. I free motioned the center flower, traced a butterfly onto quilting paper from a machine quilting pattern book for four corners, then stippled with a swirl or loop for the rest. Quilting is not my favorite part, but I was pleased with the results. All five of those projects are quilted now--but it doesn't show up as well on the others--busy backs.
The other is a small wall hanging I created with dimensions given to me by my d-i-l for the "new" bathroom my son fixed up in their home. It was stitched in the ditch. A friend gave me a neat plan, but once I started, I decided to stick to sitd for the whole thing.
I have bindings on all but one floral project, and three are sold.

One wall hanging layered... so you can remember what it looked like.
