    Either color would be very pretty. Of course, my first choice would be red :oops:

    or even try the blue - I was making a scrappy strip quilt, and much to my amazement, the blue pieces were the ones that caught my eye

    I think in your hearts of hearts you have an idea which one would be the best. Bu,t you could make up a small sample one to try the grey out and see what it would look like. (You could make a coin purse out of it later)
    These are really turning out nice, by the way. Nice gifts.

    I don't think red will work because the red in the bag is more orange then red. Yellow might be interesting. I think I'll do a test with yellow thread. And maybe a test in blue. But don't be surprised if I go full circle back to black. I will be stopping at Ben Franklin's on the way out of town (home) tonight for yellow thread. :D The quilt shop closes at 5pm :(
